Understanding The Market

“it is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change.”

Charles Darwin

The market needs purchasing power as well as buyers. The total purchasing power depends on current income, prices, savings, and credit. Marketers and business owners must be mindful of key trends in income changes and consumer consumption dynamics.
Enterprises with high-value or high-profit products need to carefully study the economic environment’s changing trends to proactively make adaptive adjustments. In the event of an economic crisis, marketing managers need to take the necessary steps to replace products, reduce costs and overcome obstacles

Why do we need to analyze the environment?

The market needs purchasing power as well as buyers. The total purchasing power depends on current income, prices, savings, and credit. Marketers and business owners must be mindful of key trends in income changes and consumer consumption dynamics.
Businesses with high-value or high-profit margin products need to carefully study the changing trends of the economic environment to proactively make adaptive adjustments. In the event of an economic crisis, marketing managers need to take the necessary steps to replace products, reduce costs and overcome obstacles.

Clover always wants businesses to understand the environment in which they are doing business, and we will help businesses make in-depth an analysis from which to plan appropriate strategies.

Experience:

The market faces changes every day, whole scenarios can change within seconds.

Since 2008, political crises in Thailand have occurred. Protests and riots have disturbed the tourism industry. Domestic and foreign businessmen in Thailand are afraid that political instability will prolong, affecting business plans. Survey results, which were conducted by Bangkok University, showed that a wave of investment in Thailand was suspended and moved to other countries soon after.

In Vietnam, a quite painful lesson, for an import-export company in Da Nang, when exporting a shipment of bamboo and rattan to Australia without knowing the legal regulations, is that the goods must be fumigated before entering the Australian port. As a result, the whole shipment was not accepted and was canceled on the spot. Damage was not only to the goods, but the business also incured the full cost of the shipment cancellation. This cost was greater than the value of the shipment.

At the end of 2017, ThaiBev Group in Thailand spent nearly 110,000 billion VND (nearly 5 billion USD) to own 53.59% of the equity of Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (Sabeco). However, more than 2 years after the acquisition, Sabeco’s value so far has dropped below 100,000 billion VND (about 4.3 billion USD), which is lower than the amount that ThaiBev spent, and so equivalent to more than 50% reduction compared to the time ThaiBev bought. From the beginning of 2020, many difficulties have come to the beer industry. The first problem was Decree 100 on penalties for violation of alcohol concentration when operating a vehicle in traffic. Next was the Covid-19 pandemic, which made the business and production situation more turmoil. To summarize, since the 2020 Lunar New Year, Sabeco’s market capitalization has evaporated nearly VND47,000 billion (down 32%).
